As a DevOps Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include 

 

Keep the Engines Running: Infrastructure & Deployment

 

•    Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

 

•    Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI to ensure smooth, error-free deployments

 

•    Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and ensure systems scale effectively with demand

 

•    Monitor and troubleshoot deployment issues, keeping downtime to a minimum

 

•    Containerise applications using Docker and Kubernetes to streamline deployments

 

Ensure Smooth Sailing: Security & Reliability

 

•    Implement security best practices, ensuring compliance and protection against cyber threats

 

•    Monitor system performance and uptime using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack

 

•    Respond to incidents quickly, diagnosing and resolving system failures

 

•    Maintain disaster recovery (DR) plans to ensure business continuity in case of failures

 

Steer the Ship: Troubleshooting & Optimisation

 

•    Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, ensuring applications run efficiently

 

•    Optimise cloud costs, balancing performance with budget constraints

 

•    Perform log analysis to detect and prevent system issues before they escalate

 

•    Ensure software releases are stable and rollback procedures are in place if needed

 

Collaborate & Communicate: Cross-Team Support

 

•    Work closely with developers, QAs, and security teams to ensure seamless software releases

 

•    Provide hands-on support to teams for troubleshooting production issues.

 

•    Document DevOps processes and best practices to improve team efficiency.


INTERNAL: 

 

•    Development Teams (based in HK & India); Ops & Support (based in HK & India); 

 

EXTERNAL:

 

•    Answering and helping external development teams. 

 

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications

ESSENTIAL 

 

•   Over 3 years of hands-on DevOps experience, proficient in scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, PowerShell)

 

•   Proficient in using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Travis CI, GitLab CI/CD) for streamlined continuous integration and     delivery processes

 

•   Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) for efficient infrastructure management

 

•   Knowledgeable in containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for scalable application deployment

 

•   Experience with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies and their practical use in software engineering

 

•   Hands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and Azure or Google Cloud) 

 

•   Effective team player with strong problem-solving skills – clear evidence of collaborating with both developers     and IT Operations team

 

•   Good communication and documentation skills in English

 

DESIRABLE 

 

•    Familiarity with container orchestration (Helm, OpenShift) and monitoring tools (ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana)

 

•    Understanding of microservices, DevSecOps, and serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)

 

•    Experience in automating CI/CD pipelines and working with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible,     CloudFormation)

 

•    Relevant certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, CKA, Docker Certified Associate) are a plus.
