As a Graduate Software Engineer, you will join a dynamic engineering team building the next generation of maritime technology. You will contribute to developing software that supports critical ship and shore-based operations, gaining exposure to web, mobile, and cloud-native platforms. You will work with industry-standard technologies and innovative tools like Generative AI, helping transform how ships are managed around the globe.

 

Key roles and responsibilities :

As a Graduate Software Engineer, your typical day might include:

Set the Course: Vision & Learning

Learn and contribute to the development of PARIS, our flagship maritime technology platform

Work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, and test scalable web and mobile applications

Understand user stories and help build intuitive digital tools that simplify operations for seafarers and office users

Embrace continuous learning—participating in code reviews, design discussions, and training programs

Take feedback positively and grow continuously through mentorship and peer learning

 

Chart the Course: Technical Growth & Innovation

Contribute to developing features and modules using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern backend technologies like React, Node.js, and AWS

Participate in end-to-end software development, from design to deployment

Collaborate in Agile teams, delivering incremental value and learning iterative development

Support efforts in using Generative AI to automate routine tasks and enhance user experiences

Hands-on involvement in debugging, testing, and performance improvement initiatives

 

Craft the Compass: Execution & Code Quality

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior engineers

Follow industry best practices in version control, testing, and continuous integration

Collaborate with fellow developers, QA engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver functional software

Engage in cross-functional activities such as demos, stand-ups, retrospectives, and innovation sprints

Relationship (mostly Internal and or External) and Nature of Communication List the internal and external points of interactions that are required of this job.

 

Internal

Software Development Teams (India & Hong Kong)

External:

Answering and helping external development teams

Exposure to third-party APIs and systems related to maritime logistics and compliance (as needed)

Essential

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (2025 graduates)
Solid foundation in one or more backend languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, C++, or equivalent
Familiarity with fundamental software development concepts, algorithms, and data structures
Basic understanding of software development principles and practices
Eagerness to explore emerging technologies like Generative AI in real-world applications
Strong logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset
Effective in verbal and written communication skills in English

Desirable

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or DevOps tools (Git, Docker, CI/CD)
Academic projects or certifications in software engineering, AI, or web development
Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MySQL
