As a Senior Business Analyst in our Digital/IT team, you’ll be a key resource guiding our PARIS ecosystem to new heights. This isn’t just about mapping requirements—it’s about defining and delivering transformative solutions that power 600+ ships and 27,000 seafarers worldwide. You’ll bridge the language of data and strategy, turning stakeholder visions into actionable roadmaps that propel our ecosystem from concept to cutting-edge reality.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

As a Senior Business Analyst, your typical day might include:

 

1.Strategic Navigator: Define Product Requirements and Vision

 

Pioneer solutions - Develop clear user stories and requirements that align with our PARIS product vision, ensuring every feature addresses genuine user needs

 

Decode stakeholder needs - Transform vague or unclear demands into clear functional AND non-functional requirements using critical thinking, distinguishing between desired features and mission-critical objectives

 

Shape the future - Partner with Product Owners and the CX team to evolve the product roadmap, balancing ambition with feasibility whilst challenging assumptions to ensure long-term strategic value

 

Identify risks and opportunities - Proactively surface risks, gaps, and opportunities to ensure roadmaps remain on track and ensure successful delivery

 

2. Problem-Solver: Turn Data into Decisive Action

 

Prioritisation: Manage multiple product roadmaps with discipline, prioritising based on business value and impact

 

Unlock insights: Analyse user feedback and UX analytics to understand what is working, what is not, and why. Translate findings into actionable strategies that improve product performance

 

Mentor the next generation - Guide other Business Analysts with your expertise, fostering excellence through clear thinking, rapid iteration, and effective collaboration

 

3. Collaborative Architect: Build Bridges Between Vision and Reality

 

Lead cross-functional partnerships – Coordinate across IT, operations teams and external stakeholders to understand requirements, negotiate priorities, and ensure solutions support Fleet’s objectives

 

Drive change adoption - Design and execute rollout strategies for new products and capabilities, ensuring smooth adoption through training, communication, and stakeholder engagement because impact only matters when solutions are embraced

Drive continuous improvement - Identify and highlight opportunities for process improvement that benefit individual contribution and broader team effectiveness

 

Stay current - Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, tools and methodologies to enhance capability and delivery quality

Internal: 

 

Operational Product Owners & other stakeholders (Based in HK, India, Singapore, Cyprus, Philippines, China)

 

Customer Experience (CX) team including Product Team, UX Designers and QA Engineers (based in HK & India)

 

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications

ESSENTIAL 

 

You must have all these skills and experiences

 

5+ years of experience working in a Business Analysis or Senior Business Analysis role in developing repeatable, scalable IT products

 

Effective and confident communication in written and spoken English – getting messages across clearly and concisely

 

Strong mindset on understanding the use of data to help drive prioritisation - demonstrated through the use of either:
Advanced Excel skills, or 

 

Use of database skills such as SQL and Elasticsearch or Google Analytics for UX analytics

 

Lead change management initiatives across a large department / company to land new capability smoothly and effectively

 

Demonstration of influencing senior stakeholders (Director level including C-Level)

 

Evidence of mentoring other Business Analysts to help them grow and reach their potential

 

Applied experience in AI prompting for research, use case discovery, requirements gathering, and data analysis


DESIRABLE – 

 

It’s great if you have these too

 


Proficiency with JIRA (sprint planning, backlog refinement), Figma (design collaboration and feedback), and cross-tool workflow coordination. Comfortable managing design-to-delivery handoffs 

 

Demonstrated experience in Agile/Scrum environments, with the flexibility to adapt across Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies depending on project context

 

Qualification in process mapping (such as Lean Six Sigma)

 

Maritime / Shipping industry experience would be a huge plus or similar industries such as Aviation, Logistics, or Transport

Planning & Organising (Level 2): Uses the supplied tools for structured planning for optimal time use. Balances competing priorities. Promptly updates people when plans change and keep updated on progress. Adjusts own plans based on FML strategies and plans.

 

Initiative (Level 3): Always looks for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in their own and other peoples work backed by clear rationale and benefits to the business. Role models desired change behaviour and uses external best practice as reference.

 

Accountability (Level 2): Responsible for delivering own work without unnecessary supervision. Always demonstrates integrity and ethical behaviour being a role model for others. Invites constructive feedback adjusting actions accordingly. Thinks through mistakes made and finds ways to prevent reoccurrence.

 

Resilience and managing wellbeing (Level 1): Is willing to take on additional unplanned urgent tasks when required without sacrificing performance standards. Knows how to priories and break down tasks, and when to escalate to his managed to manage pressure.

 

Adaptability (Level 2): Seeks to understand the rationale for changes at Fleet looking for different perspectives to facilitate and positively contribute to the initiatives within the team and themselves.
