Job Position Summary
The primary function of this role is to oversee the overall provision and bonded store procurements of the Quality Catering Division with a specific and dedicated focus on engaging vendors for ‘Annual Contracts’ basis fixed prices.

The Person in charge of this role, while acting as a key business partner and advisor to the Head of QCD shall ensure the departments global procurements are well channelized, regularly monitored through a global network of well evaluated and appointed ship chandlers.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities
 Act as a procurement specialist and advisor to the Head of QCD, providing market insights, analysis and support for operational and commercial decision-making. 
 Overall supervision and monitoring of the purchasing activities and associated processes with a prime focus on engaging vendors for ‘Annual Contracts’ partnerships.
 Development of QCD’s procurements plan and strategy
 Oversee the departments Vendor Management that includes -
o Vendor sourcing & development, liaison with HOD & group procurement cell as necessary.
o Vendor compliance checks & adherence to statutory and legal requirements at every port
o Vendor approvals, periodic performance review & re-approvals/suspension, where necessary.
o Vendor services, premise, product & supply inspections (where/as feasible)
 Identifying & development of new potential sectors for Annual Price Contracts
 Preparation & analysis of quote comparators for annual contracts, & subsequent finalization in liaison with HOD & head of the catering operations team.
 Negotiation on rebates, other contractual terms. Other cost reduction initiatives
 Price / Inflation watch and related market study
 Data Maintenance and the SC platform – ingredients/products & vendors
 Periodic Data (pricing, inflation,) analysis, Vendor SOA reconciliation & MIS

 

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications
 MBA (SCM) or Dip/PGD in Materials management 
 Experience – Minimum 5-7 years of which at least 3 years working in the food procurements/Maritime catering industry.
