Job Position Summary

The primary function of this role is to maintain accurate accounting records for a portfolio of vessels, deliver timely and high-quality financial and management reports, and act as a key finance point of contact towards the vessel owners on accounting and reporting matters. This is a senior Finance manager’s role with accountability on: 
-    Representing Finance in owner-facing communications, including reporting, query resolution, and relationship management. 
-    Ensuring strong technical accounting oversight 
-    Supporting corporate accounting on statutory reporting, external audits etc.
-    Oversight on Accounts payable
-    Deploying Fleet Finance strategies and policies in Cyprus, but as on required globally. 


Key Roles and Responsibilities

•    Act as the face of Finance in key client relationships with vessel owners, ensuring professional, responsive, and solution-oriented handling of owner reporting, accounting queries, fund requests, and periodic account settlements.
•    Take full responsibility for day-to-day vessel accounting for an assigned portfolio of vessels, including fund requests, invoice review, portage bill review, month-end adjustments, and accurate maintenance of vessel books and records.
•    Prepare and deliver monthly vessel financial reports, cash flow statements, budget variance analyses, and other required management information within agreed timelines.
•    Build and maintain strong working relationships with vessel owners and internal stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are understood, met, and continuously improved.
•    Maintain accurate book-keeping records for accrual and control accounts in Fleet HK entities and support robust financial controls and reconciliations.
•    Participate in external audits, finance projects, and strategic process improvements introduced by the Finance & Accounts department.
•    Support the regular MIS reporting and other ad hoc financial analysis or reporting requirements.
•    This role is based in Cyprus, with occasional travel to and work to support business needs.
•    Provide support to Fleet Finance Controller on HQ matters related to Finance processes, performance and projects.


Job Experience and Qualifications  

•    Qualified Chartered Accountant Sor equivalent qualifications in accounting, finance and related fields.
•    > 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and external audits
•    Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
•    Experience in a customer-facing finance role is highly desirable.
•    Working knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP is preferred.
•    Prior experience in a Ship Management or Shipping Industry is an advantage
•    Travels as required for work
