Job Position Summary  

The Assistant Manager will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of learning and talent programmes across the oganisation, oversee the tracking of learning records and support the development of the user experience associated with our learning platforms. This role involves collaborating with multiple stakeholders to understand a wide variety of learning needs, detailed coordination and data-analysis skills, and creativity to design effective learning methods.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

Learning & Development Support:

  • Assist in the design, development, and administration of the FLEET learning strategy, curriculum and materials to enhance employee skills and support a continuous learning culture
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions, both in-person and online, creating an engaging learning environment
  • Support the design and implementation of a FLEET onboarding framework, identifying the learning needs of seafarers transitioning to shore-based work, and employees transitioning into the maritime industry
  • Own the development of monthly micro-learningsto encourage continuous learning throughout the organisation
  • Maintain the Learning Management System (SuccessFactors) and ensure training records are up to date
  • Track, analyse and report on training effectiveness to inform future programme improvements
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, scheduling, vendor management
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices

 

Talent Management:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance management policies, processes, and tools.
  • Coordinate the annual performance review cycle, including scheduling, communications, and training for managers and employees.
  • Support the organisation’s annual talent and succession planning processes, partnering with regional HR Managers and Department Heads to maintain accurate succession records in relevant systems.
  • Support the digital management of performance data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

 

Employee Experience Audit:

  • Support the continual review of HR processes against TMSA & DBMS standards to identify gaps and improvement areas
  • Own the upkeep of the HR manual, driving consistent standards for the employee experience a FLEET
  • Support audit meeting requirements, becoming a spokesperson for the Fleet approach to employee experience
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the HR and Leadership teams.

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications 

  • 5+ years HR generalist experience / Centre of Excellence experience or 3+ years relevant consultancy experience
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in working with quantitative and qualitative data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with SuccessFactors learning management systems (LMS).
  • Employee experience, talent, learning or OD experience would be an advantage
  • Interest and / or knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies is a plus
  • Proactive and effectiveness driven approach to getting things done
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment to deliver great work
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Candidates with experience in talent management, learning and development, or a related field will be given preference
