Job Position Summary

 

The Assistant Manager, Employee Experience will join the company’s EX Team to during a time of strategic transition.  With a keen focus on continuous improvement, the role will support a range of tactical and strategic initiatives spanning Learning, Development, Culture and Organisation Development, ultimately focused on enriching experiences for Leaders, Managers and Employees across Fleet Management.

 

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

 

The incumbent will be responsible for the following activities:

 

Enhancing Employee Experience:

  • Identify and diagnose opportunities to enhance the employee experience across the employee life cycle via data, interviews, and workshops.
  • Design, test & implement projects and human‑centered interventions, digitally facilitated wherever possible, to enhance employee experience.
  • Support the planning and delivery of high‑impact events: onboarding days, learning events, manager forums, engagement & team-building activities, recognition ceremonies.
  • Pursue opportunities to streamline processes: simplification, standardisation and digitisation.

 

Learning & Development Support:

  • Assist in the design, development, logistics and administration of the Fleet Management learning strategy, curriculum and materials to enhance employee skills and support a continuous learning culture
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions, both in-person and online, creating an engaging learning environment
  • Support the design and implementation of a Fleet onboarding framework, identifying the learning needs of various target audiences, including seafarers transitioning to shore-based work, employees transitioning into the maritime industry and hiring managers themselves.
  • Maintain the Learning Management System (SuccessFactors) and ensure training records are up to date
  • Track, analyse and report on training effectiveness to inform future program improvements
  • Manage vendor relationships and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices

 

Talent Management:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance management policies, processes, and tools.
  • Coordinate the annual performance review cycle, including scheduling, communications, system interaction, and training for managers and employees.
  • Support the organisation’s annual talent and succession planning processes, partnering with regional HR Managers and Department Heads to maintain accurate succession records in relevant systems.
  • Support the digital management of performance data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

 

Stakeholder Liaison:

  • Consult with stakeholders and teams to assess the impact of planned changes.  Develop change plans with stakeholder‑specific messaging to drive smooth implementation and robust adoption.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers; triage questions and escalate themes.

 

Support Audits of HR:

  • Support the continual review of HR processes against industry standards to identify gaps and improvement areas
  • Own the upkeep of the HR manual, driving consistent HR procedures and standards at Fleet
  • Support audit meeting requirements, becoming a spokesperson for the Fleet approach to employee experience

 

Ad Hoc Projects: Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the HR and Leadership teams.

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications

  • 5+ years HR generalist experience / Centre of Excellence experience or 3+ years relevant consultancy experience
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in working with quantitative and qualitative data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with SAP SuccessFactors learning management system (LMS).
  • Employee experience, talent, learning or OD experience is an advantage
  • Interest and / or knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies would be beneficial
  • Proactive and effectiveness driven approach to getting things done
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment to deliver great work
  • Qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
