As a Business Analyst in our Digital/IT team, you will play a hands-on role in defining and delivering the features that power 600+  ships and 27,000 seafarers worldwide. Your strength lies in translating customers’ needs into clear, structured user stories and acceptance criteria which are the building blocks that turn ideas into reliable, scalable solutions within the PARIS ecosystem.

 

Your mission? To bring precision and clarity to every stage of product delivery using data to guide decisions and collaborating across teams to support smooth adoption. Key Roles and Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, your typical day might include:

Clear Navigator: Clarifying Requirements & Product Definition:

  • Define what matters – Develop clear user stories and acceptance criteria that align with the PARIS product vision, ensuring every feature addresses a genuine user need
  • Apply product thinking – Deliver workable, practical solutions whilst creating repeatable product features that scale across the fleet
  • Map the detail – Define personas, process flows, and data flows to support UI and database design, ensuring features are practical and scalable across the fleet
  • Validate before release – Collaborate with QA Engineers to verify that stories meet acceptance criteria and are fit for purpose ahead of every release


Strong Team Worker: Collaboration & Change Management:

  • Build strong partnerships – Work closely with Operational Product Owners, Development Leads, QA Engineers, and UX Designers to understand needs and deliver innovative solutions that meet and exceed expectations
  • Communicate with clarity – Convey requirements, decisions, and trade-offs clearly and concisely across stakeholders and onshore/offshore development teams
  • Support smooth adoption – Support rollout strategies for new capabilities, contributing to training, communications, and stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth adoption across Fleet Management

Relationship

 

INTERNAL:

  • Operational Product Owners & other stakeholders (Based in HK, India, Singapore, Cyprus, Philippines, China)
  • Customer Experience (CX) team including Product Team, UX Designers and QA Engineers (based in HK & India)
  • Development team, Ops & Support (based in HK & India)

 

EXTERNAL:

  • Interaction with Owners/Clients, Suppliers and/or third-party solution providers

 

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications

 

ESSENTIAL – You MUST have all these skills and experiences 🤩

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Business Analysis role in developing repeatable, scalable IT products
  • Effective and confident communication in written and spoken English; getting messages across clearly and concisely
  • Process mapping proficiency with clear thinking ability to define and document end to end process flows, data flows
  • Strong mindset on understanding the use of data to help drive prioritisation; demonstrated through the use of either:
    • Advanced Excel skills, or
    • Use of database skills such as SQL and ElasticSearch or Google Analytics for UX analytics
  • Demonstration of influencing senior stakeholders (Manager level and above)
  • Strong in being able to create clearly defined user stories addressing both functional and non-functional elements
  • Applied experience in AI prompting for research, use case discovery, requirements gathering

 

DESIRABLE – It’s great if you have these too 😇

  • Proficiency with JIRA (sprint planning, backlog refinement), Figma (design collaboration and feedback), and cross-tool workflow coordination. Comfortable managing design-to-delivery handoffs
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile/Scrum environments, with the flexibility to adapt across Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies depending on project context
  • Qualification in process mapping (such as Lean Six Sigma)
  • Maritime / Shipping industry experience would be a huge plus or similar industries such as Aviation, Logistics, or Transport
