Job Position Summary
The Manager / Senior Manager, Talent Development will own leadership and learning activities for our global business. They will be responsible for developing and implementing learning strategies and programmes that align with business goals and our learning objectives, while also ensuring that what is delivered is effective, engaging, and impactful.
They will work closely with the Group HR Director, GM EX, business leaders and other stakeholders to identify learning needs and design and deliver learning solutions that meet those needs, partnering with external partners as needed. The position requires a deep understanding of leadership development, global learning, and adult learning principles, as well as strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
The Manager / Senior Manager will also be responsible for running the performance management cycle and some organizational development or change projects.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for the following activities:
Talent Development:
- Work with the GM Employee Experience to design and deliver solutions to the business that appropriately evaluate talent, predict potential and identify development needs.
- Develop and implement (including some facilitation / delivery) learning and development initiatives aligned with the organisation’s values, competency model and overall L&D strategy.
- Lead the development and implementation of a dedicated programme for high potential employees
- Work with internal systems specialists to leverage digital platforms including SAP SuccessFactors to drive the required e-learning.
- Help drive a culture of customer centricity and continuous learning at Fleet.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in leadership development, global learning, and adult learning principles.
Talent & Performance Management:
- Lead the annual performance management cycle, including scheduling, communications, system interaction, and training for managers and employees.
- Lead the organisation’s talent and succession planning processes, partnering with regional HR Managers and Department Heads to maintain accurate succession records in relevant systems.
- Track and report on mandatory / compliance-rated learning activities
- Support development needs defined in PIPs
Project & Change Management:
- Lead the identification of learning vendors, leadership consultants and 3rd party providers to craft and execute development solutions and longer-term development programmes on time and in budget
- Work with colleagues across Technical and Fleet Personnel to facilitate seafarers’ transition onshore and path to leadership positions
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement
- Lead succession planning and some organizational development initiatives
- Consult with stakeholders to assess individual and team development needs and to secure buy-in and commitment to target outcomes.
- Develop plans to drive smooth implementation of change and robust adoption.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for leaders on development and performance matters; triage questions and escalate themes.
Support Audits of HR
- Continually review HR processes against industry standards to identify improvement areas
- Represent Fleet’s Talent protocols for key shore personnel during audits.
Ad Hoc Projects: Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the HR and Leadership teams.

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications
- University graduate with 6 - 8 years’ L&D / Talent / OD experience or 5+ years relevant consultancy experience
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency in working with quantitative and qualitative data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with SAP SuccessFactors learning management system (LMS).
- Interest and / or knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
- Proactive and responsible, with a keen eye for quality
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment to deliver great work
