Job Position Summary
- An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a Senior Cybersecurity Manager to define, deliver and implement cybersecurity practices across our 20+ global offices and over 630 vessels under management
- The successful candidate will play a leading role in ensuring our cybersecurity defences are well maintained across the organisation – covering people, process and technology.
- This senior role will drive forward a new sub-department within the Digital/IT function and plays a key part of Fleet’s focus in developing robust, secure platforms that propel us forward.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
As a Senior Cybersecurity Manager, your typical day may include:
Define & Monitor Cybersecurity Practices
- Develop and execute a maritime-specific cybersecurity strategy to enhance practices across the fleet and shore-based operations
- Review, implement and enforce cyber-resilience policies across global offices and vessels
- Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify threats and implement remediation plans
- Define and maintain a Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP) and playbook, ensuring readiness through regular drills and simulations
- Monitor and analyse security metrics to measure effectiveness of cybersecurity initiatives and adjust strategies as needed
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build awareness of cybersecurity risks and drive adoption of best practices across departments
- Provide Executive-level updates on FLEET’s cybersecurity posture, progress against strategic goals and emerging risks
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board translating technical risks into business impacts and recommending actionable solutions
- Lead and/or support internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Drive change management initiatives to embed a culture of cybersecurity awareness and resilience across FLEET
Team & Vendor Management
- Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring alignment with objectives
- Collaborate with the wider Digital/IT team to integrate cybersecurity into development lifecycles, infrastructure design and operational processes
- Build and maintain partnerships with vendors ensuring seamless delivery of cybersecurity solutions and staying informed on emerging technologies
- Promote knowledge sharing and training within the team to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and industry trends

EXTERNAL:
- Managing vendors/third parties
Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications
ESSENTIAL:
- 8+ years in IT security, compliance, or risk management with experience in critical infrastructure or OT environments.
- Proven ability to define and enforce cybersecurity policies aligned with NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and/or Maritime-specific guidelines like IMO Resolution MSC.428(98)
- Strong change management and influencing skills to drive cybersecurity initiatives across departments and stakeholders
- Experience in incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and security monitoring tools including SIEM and EDR solutions, with a focus on OT/IoT environments.
- Leadership in building and developing high-performing cybersecurity teams with emphasis on OT security and developing team members
- Strong vendor management skills ensuring seamless integration of cybersecurity solutions and managing SLAs with multiple service providers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate risks and strategies to non-technical stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
DESIRABLE:
- Certifications in CISSP, CISM, CISA or GCIH
- Working understanding of international frameworks and standards such as ISO9000, 270001 and PCI/DSS
- AWS or Azure certifications / hands-on experience
- Understanding of the Maritime industry , including regulatory requirements (e.g., IMO, ISM Code) and OT systems like SCADA and Vessel Management Systems
- Awareness of emerging cyber threats targeting the Maritime sector such as GPS spoofing and ransomware attacks
