Job Position Summary

To work in the Security Cell of the Company and provide support to Company Security Officer (CSO) for security related matters. Required for daily monitoring of company vessels and corresponding with the vessels to prepare for High Risk Area (HRA) transits. Coordinate with different departments within the Company and with Owners and Charterers, to ensure vessel is adequately supported in security related matters.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• To work in the Security Cell of the Company and provide support to Company Security Officer (CSO) for security related matters. Required for daily monitoring of company vessels and corresponding with the vessels to prepare for High Risk Area (HRA) transits. Coordinate with different departments within the Company and with Owners and Charterers, to ensure vessel is adequately supported in security related matters.
Primary duties and responsibilities
• To collect and assess various security related information from vessels such as preparation for BMP5 hardening, Passage plan through HRA, mandatory & voluntary reporting and arrangement of Armed guards/Security escort vessels.
• To monitor movement of company vessels on daily basis and assess voyage progress through HRA.
• To share security related information with the vessels to prepare for HRA transits.
• Maintaining security records/ status on daily basis and updating the CSO.
• Liaising with PMSC (Private maritime security company) for the arrangement of security guards and/or security escort vessels for vessel’s HRA transit.
• Liaising with Owners/ Charterers in completing security questionnaires for Oil majors/vetting departments.
• Obtaining Flag state authorization and other approvals for placement of security guards and SEV.
• Coordinate with PMSC and maintain records of security invoice to facilitate smooth payments and avoid fraudulent payments.
• Liaison with Technical department for replenishment of standard security equipment required onboard vessel as per Company Policy and Best Management Practices (BMP).
• To carry out any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time, to support the Security Cell.

 

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications
· Degree in Nautical Science from a reputed institute
· Seafaring experience up to 3/O or 2/O rank will be an added advantage
