Job Position Summary 
The Asst Manager under Repair division is responsible for overseeing and managing the repair and maintenance operations of the company’s fleet, ensuring that all vessels are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and performance. This role involves coordinating repair schedules, managing budgets, and leading a team of skilled technicians and engineers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs. The Asst Manager - will work closely with superintendents, port engineers, and external contractors to maintain compliance with maritime regulations and company standards.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities   

•Liaison with Ship Managers/Superintendents:
Coordinate closely with Ship Managers and Superintendents to ensure prompt and efficient vessel services, addressing both routine and urgent repair needs.

•Smooth Execution of Purchasing Activities:
Ensure the efficient handling of purchasing activities, including sourcing and acquiring technical spare parts, services for marine machinery, and equipment repairs and also annual servicing of FFA/ LSA.

•Supplier Coordination:
Manage the team responsible for handling inquiries and requisitions to global suppliers for quotes on services such as annual, bi-annual, 5-year, and 10-year inspections and repairs of machinery, including navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections, hull cleaning, and UTM services, etc.

•Emergency Repairs:
Be available 24/7 to manage emergency or urgent repairs, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure swift resolutions.

•Cost Negotiation:
Lead final cost negotiations with both clients and vendors, securing mutually agreed-upon terms for repair services and project execution.

•Invoice Processing:
Verify vendor invoices against quotations, ensuring accuracy in credit notes and discounts, and process invoices within credit term periods.

•Documentation & Client Invoicing:
Ensure all vendor invoices and client confirmations are properly documented and passed to the accounts department to raise client invoices. Follow up on timely client invoicing and payment collection.

•Team Supervision & Guidance:
Oversee the repair team, providing guidance and support in resolving any issues that may arise during the repair and maintenance processes.

•Financial Accountability:
Ensure timely processing of invoices and follow up for payments, ensuring that all transactions are completed within the credit term period.


Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications   
Minimum Engineering/ Mariner / second Engineer/ Third Engineer or its equivalent.
-With at least 03-05 years working experience preferably in Shipping Industry/ Marine Repair Companies.
-Able to converse in fluent English.
