Job Position Summary
Manager – Training for FMTI India.
To assist HOD in delivery of training as well day to day and long-term operations related to providing quality training to seafarers. Will be involved through delivery in Classroom, Simulator , Online , Hands on TOLAS, Webinar, Seminar, Mentoring, Briefing and personal interaction methods.
Will have to ensure that all associated course and training material as well as course and training related documentation is kept always updated. Will fulfill objectives as specified in FMTI’s Quality Management Manual. May also be involved with other tertiary duties, as decided, and assigned by HOD, eg. Audit, Inspections, shipboard training, offsite training, Cadet and TME selection and induction and ECDIS Support.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
· To ensure that the relevant procedures and guidelines laid down by top management of company are complied with and make changes from time to time as may be necessary.
· Act as a mentor of cadets, while cadets are on board.
· To guide, monitor and assist in achieving effective learning of cadets during their stay onboard.
· To administer, execute TAR book monitoring system.
· Communicating with cadets on board and address issues, grievances etc
· Ship appraisal monitoring, feedback to cadets and suggesting work, training related corrections.
· To debrief cadets after signing off from the ship, assist, guide for 2nd mates’ examinations
· To review TAR book.
· To Liaise with Hong Kong on cadet related matters
· To keep abreast of training of selected cadets in Training Institutes
· Jobs assigned by the Deck faculty related to candidates screening, testing, interview, campus inspection, report submission for whitelisting.
· Any other job assigned by Principal related to training, audit, certification.
Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications
MASTER MARINER with minimum 12 Months Command Experience.
Has to be from a Chemical Tanker background.
If possessing TOTA / VICT and AECS, TSTA certificates would be considered additional advantage.
Past teaching experience would help. Not mandatory Fresher will also work.
