Manager, Vessel Accounting

Job Summary

Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the vessel accounting department. Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and oversee preparation of financial reports by the team. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles of the Organization.

Key Roles and Responsibilities   

• In-charge of Group of Vessel Accountants in Mumbai office overseeing their day-to-day work and ensure Owners financial and accounting requirements are fully complied. 
• To effectively monitor and handle different vessel accounting teams and ensure best accounting practices and internal controls are followed effectively.
• Consolidate the monthly management reports like Fund balances, Owners Reporting, etc. and sent to Hong Kong office
• Should impart appropriate training to vessel accounting team and ensure good results from the team
• Maintain good relationship with Clients & Team members
• Should be able to handle team of 7-8 accountants and lead the function.

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications   

• Qualified certified public accountant (CPA) with minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting. 
• Prior experience in Shipping Industry is a must
• Working knowledge of ERP like Oracle, SAP, etc. is a must
• Sound knowledge of International Accounting practices
