Job Position Summary

Manager – Training (Electrical Faculty) for FMTI India.
To assist HOD in delivery of training as well day to day and long-term operations related to providing quality training to seafarers. Will be involved through delivery in Classroom, Simulator , Online , Hands on TOLAS, Webinar, Seminar, Mentoring, Briefing and personal interaction methods.
Will have to ensure that all associated course and training material as well as course and training related documentation is kept always updated. Will fulfill objectives as specified in FMTI’s Quality Management Manual. May also be involved with other tertiary duties, as decided, and assigned by HOD, eg. Audit, Inspections, shipboard training, offsite training, T.E/O, Cadet and TME selection and induction and  Electrical Support cell.


Key Roles and Responsibilities

1) To deliver on Lecturing duties as well as other course duties and maintaining up to date course material as well as all associated course documentation and records.
2) To carry out relevant mentoring, briefing, screening and PDOS duties.
3) To plan and participate in Webinars, Seminars, Workshops etc.
4) To conduct remote shipboard training or offsite training wherever necessary.
5) To ensure that all forms of training material is kept updated, including but not limited to classroom, on cloud and TOLAS training.
6) Work on projects as assigned by GM / HOD
7) Work with third party training providers as assigned
8) To provide data, statistics and records related to own duties and courses when required.
9) To work together with peers on T.E/O, Cadet and TME selection and training as assigned.
10) To work on tertiary duties like Electrical Support cell, Incident investigation, audits as assigned.
11) To assist and ensure task delivery related to all audits and inspection, be it for FMTI or for peer departments eg TMSA, DBMS, DOC audits and inspections.
12) To undergoing training and skill improvement sessions as identified and assigned.
13) To work on projects and campaigns conducted by FMTI or where FMTI is instructed to assist upon.
14) To work on IT and digital solutions and projects as assigned by HOD
15) To delegate and supervise any support team executive who may be assigned duties related to associated training course, as decided by the HOD.
16) To work closely in induction of new Training Managers and Visiting faculty.
17) To ensure proper functioning, operation, maintenance, and inspection of Ship/ Cargo / Nautical Simulators, FMTI workshop, classrooms and all associated equipment and appliance at FMTI and at other branch locations.
18) To liaison with various members of various peer department e.g., QMS, Vetting, Incident Cell for gaining inputs, incident case studies, technical introductions and innovations being introduced and plan training programmes in accordance to instructions provided by HOD.
19) To implement administrative & operational procedures, as instructed by G.M
20) To closely analyze client, industry and regulatory requirements and develop new course and training modules based on the analysis.
21) To represent FMTI, whenever necessary, at both inhouse as well as external events.
22) To respond to FPD and other peer departments on all communication related to own duties as specified but not limited to above.


Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications

Must have minimum 6 Months sailing time as Electrical officer on foreign going vessels or should have served in a Superintendent role for a minimum of 12 months.
Possession of past training delivery experience and TOTA / VICT is considered as a preferred qualification
