Job Position Summary 

An exciting and challenging opportunity has opened for a Senior Business Analyst within our Digital/IT Team. The role is a critical part of our Product team identifying opportunities and implementing improvements to our PARIS ecosystem.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving product requirements with stakeholders and participating in our team of IT professionals to deliver robust, sustainable and flexible solutions to meet strategic goals.

 

This role is a key part of Fleet’s focus to develop leading digital capability to enhance and improve our platforms deployed over 670 ships and for our 27k+ seafarers.
 

Key Roles and Responsibilities   

As a Senior Business Analyst, your typical day might include:

 

Supporting Product Strategy through High-Quality Requirement Analysis
• Delivering high-quality user stories addressing both functional and non-functional needs aligned with the product roadmap to ensure we are building the right solutions for Fleet
• Apply critical thinking techniques to distinguish stakeholders’ wishes from underlying needs
• Help inform and shape, in conjunction with the Product Manager, the wider product roadmap and priorities
• Validating and questioning assumptions for the product to anticipate and proactively address problems

 

Collaboration & Change Management
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyse and anticipate needs
• Make recommendations and Implement process improvements that help in Product Development
• Leading in change management including the training and roll-out of new products across the company working with other stakeholders

 

Organisation & Thinking Clearly
• Strong priorirtisation skills to be able to handle working on multiple initiatives in parallel
• Focusing on solid, rapid execution, guiding critical trade-offs in product requirements in order to ensure product fit
• Analysing user responses and UX analytics data to examine product performance and determine which/why/how certain sections perform better
• Taking a leadership role, mentor and support for deliverables of other Business Analysts
 

 

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications   
ESSENTIAL

• 5+ years of experience working in a Business Analysis role in developing repeatable, scalable IT products
• Effective and confident communication in written and spoken English – getting messages across clearly and concisely
• Strong mindset on understanding the use of data to help drive prioritisation - demonstrated through the use of either:
o Advanced Excel skills, or 
o Use of database skills such as SQL and ElasticSearch or GoogleAnalytics for UX analytics
• Led change management initiatives across a large department / company to land new capability smoothly and effectively
• Demonstration of influencing senior stakeholders (Director level including C-Level)
• Evidence of mentoring other Business Analysts to help them grow and reach their potential
• Experience of independent working - ability to drive an initiative forward with limited guidance
